Job Details
Sandwell Council are looking for 2 experienced Adult and Family Learning support workers for its Adult and Community Learning Service based in Sandwell. The posts are both 18.5 hrs per week and an employed fixed term contract from September 2020, this will be reviewed July 2021. The posts will require you to inspire and support adult learners to successfully complete their course/qualification.
You will support the tutor in the classroom and offer 1-1 tutorials face to face and through online platforms, all the tasks will be outlined by the relevant tutor. You will be required to assist in the initial assessment process and support the English curriculum quality lead, to mark and assess work. In return there is a competitive salary (£18,795/£9.74 per hour to £19,945/£10.34 per hour, pro rata), mileage and generous holiday entitlement.
You must hold the following qualifications;
- To hold a minimum level 2 certificate in learning support
- GSCE English and Maths at grade 4-9/ grade C or Functional skills English and Maths level 2
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience of supporting adults in an adult education setting
- Experience of working alongside tutors within English and Maths adult delivery
