Herefordshire Council is seeking to appoint a paralegal to our legal team for our Adult and Communities directorate. To qualify you must have either completed the Legal Practice Course or have Level 3-6 CILEX qualification. The post holder will carry a caseload of varied legal work and be responsible for completing all matters in accordance with good legal practice and client service specification. You will be expected to research and provide operational legal support on matters such as adult social care, education, criminal and civil litigation under supervision commensurate with the type of work . This position offers great career opportunities with varied, challenging legal work plus advising in a political environment.
The legal team supports Herefordshire Council in carrying out all of its functions whether service delivery, development of strategy or delivery of major developments and initiatives. The service takes the lead for litigation on behalf of the local authority as well as working proactively with services to provide comprehensive legal advice, and guidance on a vast range of legal issues.
The demand for the service has increased and will continue to see a pull on demand as the council addresses challenges and changes in the way it operates. It is also an opportunity to work in a beautiful county for an authority committed to ongoing improvement in all aspects of its organisation and service delivery. Position is full time (37 hours per week) and flexible working available.
