Walsall Children's Services invite you to join us in our exciting transformation journey. If you are committed to working with families in a relational way and like us want to re-connect with the community in which our families live then we would like to hear from you.
This is an exciting time for Walsall Children’s Social Care as we move forward on our Transformation Journey and into a Locality Model. We are looking to recruit experienced social workers who are passionate about doing the right thing for children and families and who are committed to working in a relational way.
Following our successful bid to adopt the FAMILY SAFEGUARDING MODEL we are looking to recruit additional social workers who are able to work with children and families in their own community.
As one of our social workers we will support you to develop your skills and knowledge when working with families using a restorative approach. To excel, you’ll need a social work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
At this time we are seeking applications from experienced candidates only.
Apply via our microsite; interviews will be scheduled on an ongoing basis.
Walsall Council takes seriously the responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all the children and young people entrusted to our care and it is our expectation that all staff will share this commitment. We will ensure continuous development and improvement of robust recruitment processes and procedures that promote a culture of safeguarding amongst our workforce. Completion of an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check is a requirement for working with children and young people.
Note: Applicants appointed to posts that require an enhanced DBS clearance must declare any periods of time that they have lived, studied or worked abroad and be prepared to provide an Overseas Criminal Records Certificate (OCRC) or a Statement of Good Conduct (SOGC) relating to anytime they were overseas.
This post is covered by the Code of Practice on the English Langue Fluency Duty for public sector workers.
