We have a permanent opportunity for an experienced Category Manager to join our well respected and award winning procurement team.  Initially supporting Children’s Services, the team works flexibly with opportunities to work across categories.

Playing a key role in the development and delivery of the sourcing and supply strategy , you will assist in the management at all stages of the procurement process including undertaking user needs analysis, market research, sourcing activity, structure of tenders, market engagement, tender evaluation, negotiation, and all contractual matters.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Previous experience within a procurement environment
  • A robust commercial outlook with understanding of risk
  • Strong numeracy skills with the ability to analyse, interpret and present complex information.
  • Experience of stakeholder management, with strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Knowledge of contract law, the ability to draft contracts.
  • Experience of Public Sector procurement is desirable.
