Who we are

Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) plans, develops and manages an integrated transport system for the West Midlands that is reliable, affordable and accessible for all. It is the transport arm of the West Midlands Combined Authority. A standard setter in the industry, our achievements are regularly recognised nationally, most importantly as the winner of ‘City Region Authority of the Year’ in 2016, 2017 and 2019 at the National Transport Awards. Whether it’s developing and delivering new infrastructure, collaborating on future mobility projects, operating the West Midlands Metro or helping customers to keep moving, we need creative and innovative talent to join our already excellent team and help us make a real difference to residents, businesses and visitors travelling in and around the West Midlands. In return for your hard work and commitment, we will reward you with a range of competitive and attractive benefits.

About the team

The Project Manager will be within the utilities project team as part of the Metro department working in partnership with Midland Metro Alliance and Midland Metro Limited to design, build and operate the West Midlands Metro tramway and network, better connecting the people of our region.

Who we need

We are looking for a Project Manager to lead the advanced utility diversion projects for the proposed Metro lines within the West Midlands. It is desirable for the individual to have experience working on complex civil engineering projects and with utility interfaces. They will be responsible for the development of the utility’s diversion plan with each Statutory Undertaker, ensuring that all planned works are coordinated to minimise the effect on the highway network and the Metro alignment with the main works contractor.

This is a remote working opportunity until a date is agreed for the WMCA workforce to return to our usual place of work at 16 Summer Lane, Birmingham.
Our priority is to keep all our employees safe and well during this time. We will be working remotely for the foreseeable future, and we are doing everything we can to ensure all our employees can enjoy a comfortable remote working space.
