We have recently redesigned our Fostering Service and we are now looking to appoint a Team Manager for our Recruitment & Assessment Team.
As the Recruitment and Assessment Team Manager, you will be responsible for the recruitment and assessment of new Foster Carers. You will manage and supervise a team of Social Workers, a Recruitment & Promotion Worker and a Customer Service Support Worker.
You will:
- Have significant experience of working directly within a Fostering Team and with Fostering Panels
- Have good knowledge of the fostering assessment process and have the ability to supervise others in the quality assurance of fostering assessments
- Be a confident decision maker and excellent communicator with the ability to form strong working relationships
- Have experience of recruitment and promotion activity for Foster Carers.
- Be responsible for the quality, culture and performance of your team.
- Guide, nurture and inspire your team to achieve their best.
In return, we are committed to your ongoing personal and professional development and you will benefit from our management training and leadership opportunities. You will be welcomed into a management team where we will work together to achieve the best outcomes for children and their families and carers.
We have launched restorative practice as the foundation of our social work approach within the Borough. Building positive relationships is important not just with the children, young people and their families we work with, but with Foster Carers and also with each other.
You will offer high support and high challenge to your team and colleagues and inspire your team to do their very best for Walsall children. On a personal level, you will need to be genuine, friendly and driven – and you will share our commitment to supporting the children in our community.
In Walsall, we have high aspirations for our looked after children and aim to be the best corporate parents that we can be. Our Team Manager for Fostering is important in making these aspirations a reality.
