Calling all night owls. Do you like to watch the sun set and the moon rise then this may be just the role for you?

Warwickshire Emergency Duty Team are looking to appoint social workers with experience in working with children and/or adults. The role is varied and covers all aspects of working with children and vulnerable adults with an emphasis on safeguarding.

There is no risk of you being bored due to the variety of the work and you will be expected to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment yet still be part of a team. It is not, however, easy having to cover such a diverse workload and it can be stressful but there are significant rewards in being able to intervene when people are in crisis.  So, if you think this might be for you then please apply.

Applicants will need to have 3+ years post qualification experience in either children or adult services or both. You will need to be able to assess quickly and accurately, have excellent communication and written skills and be able to think creatively.

The successful applicants will be experienced and appropriately qualified; Social Work England registered Level 3/4 social workers.

Warwickshire County Council are investing in and modernising the Emergency Duty Team which is part of our Initial Response Service.  The Emergency Duty Team provides a statutory social work service to all service users, carers and agencies that require an emergency response outside of normal working hours. The team operates shift patterns and annualised hours to include weekends, evenings/nights and bank holidays. An enhanced financial allowance is payable in addition to an annual salary. Training, guidance and support is always available.

The role of an emergency duty social worker is to work with families including vulnerable adults and children in a restorative manner to assess problems/crisis during out of office hours and intervene in a way which is appropriate and proportionate.

You will be part of a highly experienced, supportive, creative and innovative team.

WCC is an organisation committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.

For further information about the role please contact the hiring manager:  Nalini Osman naliniosman@warwickshire.gov.uk
