SEN Teaching Assistant - Temporary

Salary Range: Grade 5 £19,171 to 20,344 (dependent on experience) pro-rata, term time only.

The Academy of this successful and thriving wish to appoint an SEN teaching assistant for 25 hours per week to join our successful staff team.

We are looking for a highly qualified and experienced professional to work as a One to One Teaching Assistant for a child with multiple medical and educational needs. The post requires a talented individual who is flexible, creative and dedicated to supporting children with special educational needs. 

All applicants must be qualified to at least NVQ 2 or equivalent and have experience in dealing with children with complex needs. The individual is going to be expected to work with a range of external agencies and teams to ensure the best provision is delivered. You must be committed to building upon children’s individual strengths and knowledge, be a passionate and reflective practitioner and be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to the life of the school. 

This is a temporary post as it is linked to the EHCP funding for a specific child.

We are looking for someone to:

  • Support planning and deliver learning at the level of the Early Years curriculum
  • Experience of working on a 1:1 basis and be creative in the development of modified materials
  • Facilitate inclusion in smaller group activities and support interaction within the whole class
  • Can help inspire a 'can do’ attitude
  • Confident to think on your feet as well as take direction
