Are you interested in becoming a School Governor, working with a passionate, forward thinking and exceptional team?

Fulfen Primary School are looking to appoint a Governor with Financial experience.

This is a voluntary and unpaid appointment to start in October 2020.

The role of a school Governor is a voluntary role and one that supports the school to develop their strategic objectives, aims and vision in order to ensure that all children within the school receive the very best education available to them.

In return for their time, Governors gain skills which they may not otherwise acquire, as well as the opportunity to make a positive contribution to the wider community.

Whilst Governors will be involved in a number of different areas, the Governing Body has three core functions:

  • To set the strategic direction of the school.
  • To hold the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of pupils.
  • To oversee the financial effectiveness of the school, making sure the money is well spent.

The Fulfen Governing Body meet six times per year and operate a committee less structure, having link Governors with specific responsibilities.

We are currently looking to fulfil the role of the Finance and Staffing Link Governor as the current Link Governor steps down in September 2020.

Training is available, and the existing post holder can offer support/mentoring as part of a handover programme for those who do not have prior education finance experience.

Governors will require an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
