With excellent facilities, a fantastic supportive staff team and an extremely caring atmosphere, Thornton Primary School is providing an excellent opportunity for a Learning Mentor. This role will suit a suitably qualified person who is able to effectively engage with Key Stage Two children that face barriers to learning and require additional support. You will

need to be an engaging, empathetic and resilient Learning Mentor who, as a valued member of the Pastoral Team, is prepared to work hard and be totally committed to contributing to our thriving Thornton Family.

Job Role:

• Providing 1-2-1 support as a Learning Mentor, or working with small groups

• Building strong rapport with children

• Delivering positive, supportive and nurturing sessions

• Promoting positive behaviour expectations

• Providing high quality academic support

You will:

• Have experience working with primary aged children

• Be a qualified Learning Mentor

• Have the necessary skills to work highly effectively as part of the Pastoral Team

• Be able to positively motivate disengaged children

• Rigorously reinforce our belief that every child matters

This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent and spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.
