ICT Support Technician (Schools) (Grade 4)

37 Hours per week (Permanent)

About us The Schools ICT Technical Support Services team has been supporting Schools for over twelve years. The service predominantly provides an IT managed service solution to its Service Level Agreement subscribers, more recently we have expanded services to include Web Design, hosting and maintenance. The busy IT environment is challenging but rewarding and the recruited person would enjoy a wealth of training and hands on experience.

The Role We are seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic ICT Support Technicians to work in a dynamic Technical Schools ICT Support Team and provide a committed first-class service to the schools we support.

You should have a flexible, organised and adaptable approach to work in a constantly changing ICT environment. You must be self-motivated and appreciate the School environment you will be working in.

The ICT Support Technician post is one of a technical nature and includes installation, configuration and maintenance, with the ability to provide development planning and excellent service delivery.

This technical role will incorporate client server-based tasks and involve hard wire networking and wireless infrastructures over multiple sites across the City and potentially beyond. The role demands in depth working knowledge of these different types of technologies and good technical understanding.

Key Requirements

The key requirements for this role include:

• Excellent technical knowledge in the field of ICT especially relating to schools

• Appreciation of school technology requirements and ensuring the schools are kept up to date effectively and efficiently through planning and budgeting

• Excellent ability to organise and manage time effectively whilst having conflicting demanding priorities

• An enthusiasm for ICT as a profession to help contribute toward team development and future growth

• Assertive and capable of moving schools forward in accordance with regulation and policy

Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate must have excellent customer service and communication skills with the ability to relay technical information to a variety of audience on a number of levels. Candidate should have Technical based ICT Qualifications or working towards or at least similar level job experience of performing an ICT Support role and can demonstrate this through application and interview.
