Full time temporary post in the " Worcestershire Children First Get Safe Team" funded until 31^st October 2021.  Internal and external secondments will be considered.

My name is Tina Russell and I am the Director for Children's Social Care and Safeguarding Services.  Along with my Assistant Director Emma Brittain, we are looking to recruit a dedicated Community Get Safe Link Worker, to work with voluntary sector youth workers to equip them with the skills required to identify and support vulnerable children and young people who are being criminally exploited or at risk of exploitation.

This post is in our 'Get Safe Team'.  The Get Safe Team is the Worcestershire partnership title for the identification and management of multi-agency support and protection for children and young people at risk of exploitation. It consists of partner agencies such as Worcestershire Children First, West Mercia Police, Youth Justice Service, Health and Education.

We are looking for a community worker who has significant experience of working with and advising vulnerable children and young people who are at risk of or have been exploited.  You will have experience of engaging with the most difficult to reach young people and building strong working relationships with them, their families and organisations who work together to divert the young person away from their abusers.  You will work across the county to map youth provision, whilst building connections and upskilling youth workers to create a two-way referral pathway between GET SAFE and youth providers. 

You will be working as part of a small team which consists of two children's missing officers who complete all welfare return interviews, one practice lead, one social worker, 2 link workers, a Team Manager and an administrator. You will be required to attend multi-agency review meetings to discuss children specifically at risk of child exploitation.
