Community Health Officer Apprenticeship
Level 3 Scale 3 £19,312 - £19,689
37 Hours per week
Fixed term 16 - 30 months

Are you aged 16 plus and interested in starting a career with the Council and working with the local community. Telford & Wrekin Council have partnered with The Sutton Hill Community Trust, Telford Mind and Court Street Medical Practice to deliver an innovative community health and wellbeing project, using physical activity as a vehicle for change.

Together the partnership works with some of the most vulnerable people within our communities and are always looking for new approaches to help residents lead a happier and healthier life. This opportunity will enable you to learn on the job, combining work with studying, working towards achieving nationally recognised qualifications while gaining valuable skills and practical experience.

The Community Health Officer Apprenticeship will support residents to improve their health & wellbeing and enable solutions within the community in which they live, work, learn or play, using physical activity as a priority focus in achieving this.

Sutton Hill Community Trust, Telford Mind and Court Street Medical Practice reach many people and support them better within their own communities. All of the organisations are at the forefront of looking at alternative health and wellbeing provision for people and ensuring that their services are available at the right time, in the right place. The use of community buildings and assets means that people feel more comfortable and are more responsive to the interventions offered. All of the organisations have a strong background in delivering innovative health and wellbeing projects and are looking for a new team member to support this.

This role is an apprentice role, so we are unable to offer this post to anyone with a level 3 or higher qualification in a sport or health related discipline. As a team member, you will work under the instruction / guidance of the team leader. You will study for a Level 3 in Community Sport and Health. The apprenticeship content will be tailored to suit the tasks you will be doing in your day to day work and you will receive support and guidance in building a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate your competence in the workplace.

We are looking for someone who may have a level 2 in a sport or health discipline and is looking to develop their own skills up to level 3, whilst supporting communities.
