What is the job role?

Broad Heath Primary school is an inner city school with 700+ pupils.

We are looking to recruit an administrative apprentice to support our busy office and become part of the team.

  • To provide a reception service to the school, e.g. receive parents and other visitors, ensuring safeguarding, GDPR and fire procedures are met at all times.
  • Receive telephone calls, filter calls and convey messages to staff and students as necessary. 
  • Make appointments for senior staff as directed, filter calls and process enquiries where appropriate. Undertake word processing of correspondence, reports as required, notes to parents/carers ensuring that work is of a high standard. 
  • Collate and assist in the distribution of reports and any other information as required.
  • Receive and distribute post on a daily basis.
  • The use of all office equipment including fax, photocopier, laminators
  • Liaise with Education service and council departments

Once trained you will be the main point of contact for all parents/ visitors to the school. You will deal with pupil absences, registers and lunch numbers. You will input pupil data and carry out a variety of administrative tasks.

Training in the use of SIMS/FMS will be provided for the right candidate.

You will be computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office systems and equipment.
