Senior Officer (Commissioned Services Payments Team) - Ref: SS01420
Salary: G7 £26,773 - £31,037
Walsall Council’s Adult Social Care Directorate are seeking to appoint a Senior Officer– Commissioned Services Payments Team, as part of a creation of a newly formed support services team within the Adult Social Care Directorate.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly formed team, to work with the lead officer to develop an adult social care commissioned service payments team. You will maximise the use of technologies available and develop effective internal and external relationships, to ensure efficient and streamlined procure to pay processes. We are seeking candidates who will have the experience to undertake the following:
- Provide day to day management of the staff team, ensuring the delivery of a responsive, quality service
- Undertake robust communications and negotiations to effect positive relationships with the care providers across the health and social care economy, involving significant time spent communicating with the commissioned care market; to ensure that payments are in line with care purchased
- Production of provider level activity analysis, to contribute to providing intelligence on budgeted spend levels across whole of community and residential provider market,
- Lead responsibility for internal monitoring and quality assurance processes, to ensure all payments are accurately validated, with an evidenced based, systems audit trail.
This post is covered by the Government’s Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty for public sector workers. The post holder will be required to communicate verbally with customers and provide advice and/or information in accurate spoken English.
For this role the successful candidate must undergo a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check. BPSS is the minimum standard to ensure the identity and integrity of an employee who has access to official information using secure networks linking central government and local authorities. A BPSS check involves four main elements; Identity Check, National and Immigration Status, Employment History (last 3 years) and Verification of Criminal Record (unspent convictions only).
