Salary:  £19,3123 - £19,698 per annum

37 Hours per week – Fixed Term – March 2021

Location: Civic Centre, Stafford Borough Council, Stafford

Do you want to help the Virtual School For Looked After Children. If so, we have an exciting opportunity to join the Virtual School Business Support Team. We are seeking a dynamic, flexible individual, with experience in business administration and customer service.  

The Virtual School ensures Staffordshire’s Looked After Children and Care leavers achieve their full potential.  The service works in partnership with children, families and other professionals to promote resilience and improved educational outcomes for looked after and previously looked after children so that they can fulfil their full potential when transitioning into adulthood.   

Key Accountabilities:

  • Customer service, managing the call centre for the Electronic Personal Education Plan (e-PEP) providing guidance and training to schools, social workers and partners.
  • Administrative ICT support for the e-PEP system on a daily basis, update weekly LAC population data, data migration, data cleansing, system configuration, preparation of reports.
  • Support and the preparation data analysis reports on various data sets for the Virtual School Head Teacher.
  • Support the development of the e-PEP system.
  • Supporting the processing of financial transactions including the processing of pupil premium and additional funding payments on a monthly basis.
  • Support with planning training events and conference arrangements.
  • To use, maintain and monitor extensive and varied IT facilities including computer-based information systems for input and retrieval of data, use of office email (monitoring of the Virtual School email inboxes) and intra/internet facilities.
  • To maintain service user records, IT based and manual in accordance with the department’s Record Management policy ensuring compliance with policies on case recording, filing retention and destruction. 

    General Day to Day Activities:

    To develop administration skills in the following areas:

  • Planning and prioritizing work
  • Ensuring confidentiality and security of information
  • Communicating with others in writing including letters, emails and other documents
  • Communicating with others face to face and over the telephone
  • Using office equipment to produce documents as required
  • Using office applications such as word processing and spreadsheets to present information
  • Using information systems to enter and retrieve data (Capita, Caredirector)
  • Supporting managers with administration duties
