About Us

Warwickshire County Council’s SEND Assessment and Review Service (SENDAR) is a strong, dynamic and supportive team dedicated to putting the child / young person and their family at the heart of activity.  SENDAR are part of Warwickshire’s Send and Inclusion team of Educational Psychologists, Specialist Teachers, Children with Disabilities social care staff, and other professionals.  SENDAR works closely with the Educational Psychology Service under joint management/leadership arrangements.

SENDAR is the Local Authority service that manages, monitors and reviews the Statutory SEN processes for Warwickshire Local Authority.

SENDAR has excellent IT and dedicated business support.

All staff within SENDAR work flexibly to ensure responsibilities are met, and as a learning organization, welcomes feedback and challenge to ensure continual improvement.

All Plan Coordinators support children and young people from birth to age twenty-five, and the service currently separates Plan Coordinators into teams working across pre-school and school age, and Post 16.

 

 

About the Role

To improve outcomes for our young people preparing for adulthood, the successful candidate will manage a team of Plan Coordinators and take lead responsibility for post 16 work across SENDAR.  The role includes case load work.

The role supports the work of Education Services and the SEND & Inclusion Leadership Team to ensure that resources are used to make a positive difference, meet statutory obligations and contribute to the overall strategic objectives set out in the SEND and Inclusion Strategy. You will support the Principal Educational Psychologist & SENDAR Lead with specific strategic assignments and lead on ensuring compliance with the Children & Families Act 2014, the SEN Code of Practice, and the Equality Act 2010 regarding statutory SEND assessment, reviews and monitoring on behalf of Warwickshire’s children and young people, as part of the wider Education Strategy.

You will work in partnership with other Delivery Team Leaders to deliver our organisational outcomes.  You will support the Strategy and Commissioning Manager (SEND & Inclusion) in achieving our organisational vision and outcomes.

You will develop and maintain good working relationships with a range of key stakeholders including statutory partners inlcusing parents/carers and children and young people, service providers, voluntary section and customers.

Key Skills and Experience

The post holder will need to be an experienced manager with a sound working knowledge of SEND legislation, have a background in Education, Health or Social Care, and an extensive knowledge of post 16.
