Who we need

We are currently recruiting for a highly experienced, dynamic Microsoft 365 specialist, whose focus will be to ensure we utilise the Microsoft 365 stack to help convert business requirements to successful outcomes, ensuring we make the most out of our investment.

As a Microsoft 365 specialist, you will enhance the IT Delivery Team and its ability to deliver a complete customer focused service to the organisation for all its Microsoft 365 needs, be the go-to person, provide advice and support where needed and help to deliver excellence in all areas, helping to uphold a service focused, customer centric approach.

As an advocate for Microsoft 365, you will need to maintain, support and develop the Microsoft 365 expertise. The role represents an exciting opportunity to work with others across the team and the wider organisation to help deliver and develop solutions for the business, helping the team deliver quality and value to its customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design of Microsoft 365 solutions, including Teams and other collaboration tools within the M365 technology stack.
  • Produce high quality design documentation and provide guidance and support to ensure the business gets the most from the platform
  • Create, develop and deliver technical roadmaps.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of existing and emerging Microsoft 365 core technologies
  • Schedule and deliver technical implementations

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrable experience delivering Microsoft 365 solutions in a fast-paced environment
  • Deep understanding of the Microsoft 365 platform stack
  • Demonstrable experience designing and executing multiple migrations from on-premise to cloud based solutions
  • Experience of integration of hybrid on-premise and cloud platforms.
  • Plan and undertake research and assessment of emerging 365 technologies.
  • Support in the prioritisation and sequencing of the Microsoft 365 technology roadmap - delivering proof of concepts.
  • Undertake appropriate impact assessment of 365 updates.
  • Analyse highly complex technical issues, proposing solutions in an environment that may present conflicting requirements.
  • Design, develop, implement and support various integration across the Microsoft 365 suite of solutions to maximise functionality and service to the business
  • Proven experience in designing, delivering and supporting Windows Systems, Productivity Software and Active Directory that deliver mobile, flexible ways of working for the business
  • Skilled in advanced troubleshooting across the Microsoft 365 stack
  • A track record of promoting/evangelising enhanced services and business delivery through the appliance of 365 initiatives
  • Enable and facilitate collaboration internally and externally.
  • Experience of automation of processes
  • Knowledge and experience of working with AWS, IOS and Android platforms would be an advantage
  • Evidence of outstanding working relationship with end users in exceeding their expectations

As of 1 July 2020 we introduced a new Digital and Data Team, designed to develop a high performing team that can provide excellent support to the complex multi functions of the WMCA, with the key aim to deliver a robust, high-quality Digital and Data function to our stakeholders.

Our customer and service focused Digital and Data Team encompasses several functions, from Technical Architects, Business Analysts to Design and Development, through Transition into Operational infrastructure, cloud and service desk support. Bringing together a wide range of specialists, working together to provide a customer centric service.

This is predominantly a remote working opportunity until a date is agreed for the WMCA workforce to return to our usual place of work at 16 Summer Lane, Birmingham. There may, however, be a requirement for the successful applicant to provide on-site support, should the circumstances arise.
