Welcombe Hills is an all age (3-19) generic special school in Stratford upon Avon which meets the needs of pupils with a wide range of Special Educational needs including severe and complex learning difficulties and Autism.

We currently have the following opportunity for you to join the school:
Midday Supervisors (3.6 Posts)
12.00 – 1.00pm Monday – Friday at Blue Cap Road
12.00 – 1.00pm Wed, Thurs, Fri at Drayton Avenue

The role of the Midday supervisor is to support our students during the lunch break, feeding, supervising or simply encouraging them to eat. It may also involve supporting them with play activities. Duties may also involve preparing the dining area, clearing away the tables and chairs at the end of the session. Feeding training will be given.
3 or 5 hours a week Term Time only


Key Requirements

 

  • GCSE A – C in English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • Have a good understanding of children with special educational needs and be able to provide care and support as appropriate
  • Prepared to undertake specialist training for feeding and drinking protocols
  • Aptitude to be trained to operate special needs machinery, tools (eg hoists, certain feeding equipment)
  • Prepared to undertake relevant training in administering medication
  • Can take initiative where necessary
  • Good organisational skills
  • Literacy skills to be able to understand school policies and complete documents as required
  • Be able to understand, comply and work within policies: eg. school behaviour policy, child protection policy, health and safety, confidentiality and other school rules
  • Must be able to communicate well at all levels
  • Be aware of cultural differences
  • Must be willing to undergo relevant training
  • Flexible and adaptable to meet the demands of the role
  • Can maintain Professional conduct
  • Hold personal values and attitudes that are aligned with the school ethos
