School Sustainability Lead Officer

An exciting opportunity to join the Education Services School Improvement Team and its work which focusses on support and challenge for all schools in Warwickshire. This is an important role which will make a critical contribution to school improvement work and will focus on school performance, developing sustainable schools and collaboration with key stakeholders, partners and other services.
As a Lead Officer you will be part of the team which fulfils the Local Authority’s statutory duties to ensure school performance and standards are of the highest quality. This particular sustainability role is responsible for working with schools to address challenges such as school organisational change, schools in exceptional circumstances and supporting recovery work, for example improving resource management and addressing deficit budgets.
The role involves review, planning and commissioning to respond to school needs, including coordination with other services, regulatory bodies, internal senior management and key partners and agencies. You will be responsible for ensuring appropriate resources are available to enable change required to effect necessary improvements in schools. Additionally, you will be required to help facilitate the work of the Education Service’s Strategic Sustainability Action Group
A priority function of this work is to establish and maintain effective working relationships with primary, secondary and special schools and other education settings as appropriate. This is essential to the successful influencing, monitoring and challenging work necessary to effectively carry out this role.
The School Sustainability Lead Officer will work closely with school leadership, governance and stakeholders on key strategic and management issues.
An important aspect of the work is maintaining an effective relationship with the family of schools across Warwickshire to ensure we achieve the best possible outcomes for our children and young people. The person appointed will bring a strong commitment and energy to working with schools to address challenges they face in relation to sustainability and peformance
