To start from January 2021 or sooner if possible.

We are looking for an experienced teacher of Science who will lead the development of the subject across the school. We want our students to be engaged and enthralled by their Science lessons and we want as many of them as possible to achieve Science qualifications at the end of Key stage 4.

We need an enthusiastic practitioner with recent experience of teaching Science in mainstream or special schools, who can adapt the Science curriculum to meet the needs of our students.

Queen’s Croft High School is a supportive and exciting school environment in which to develop your professional skills. We are a large, generic secondary special school that educates children from the Lichfield District and further afield who have a range of special educational needs.  Children at the school have a wide and varied range of needs including learning difficulties, ASD, communication difficulties and complex needs. We are a popular and successful school and were judged to be “Good” by Ofsted in April 2018.

We are proud to be part of the Greywood Multi-schools Trust and to work closely with the other schools in the Trust.

The school building includes a well-equipped Science room and the development of Science across the school is a key part of our school improvement plans. The successful candidate will lead developments across the school aimed at improving student outcomes in Science.

Queen’s Croft High School is at an exciting stage of its development and has well established systems for staff professional development. If you are interested in joining our team, please do contact the school to arrange a visit. We are not currently accepting visitors during the school day but have set aside some times after school for candidates to visit. Please contact the school office for more details.

Completed application forms should be returned to the school either by post or electronically to office@queenscroft.staffs.sch.uk .  The closing date for applications is 9am On Monday 19th October 2020.  Interviews for shortlisted candidates will be held electronically later in the same week on either Wednesday 21st October or Thursday 22nd October 2020.

Further details of the post can be found on the school’s website www.queenscroft.staffs.sch.uk

This School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people/vulnerable adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
