Caretaker

The Role

20.0 Hours per Week

Kingsway Community Primary School would like to appoint a dedicated and professional Caretaker who has the ability to work using their own initiative. Excellent organisational skills are essential, as is flexibility and a sense of pride in your work. You should want to be part of the school team; be able to relate well to both pupils and adults and demonstrate a positive ‘can-do’ attitude.

Working hours are 20 hours, 7am to 8.30am and 3.30pm to 6pm (flexible and negotiable). 40 weeks a year (term time + 2 weeks)

Salary: Band D SCP 4-5 £18,933-£19,312 pro rata (Actual salary £7,848- £8,008)

The successful candidate will assist in the efficient management, maintenance, repair and security of our school premises and site, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for staff, pupils and visitors alike.

Key Requirements

• Caretaking experience or similar
  
• Ability to manage and work with outside contractors
  
• Knowledge of managing site health and safety
  
• COSHH knowledge or a willingness to attend training
  
• Improvement, maintenance and cleanliness of the school
  
• Experience of supervising cleaning staff
  
• Undertaking out of hours school lettings in accordance with lettings procedures
