Night Residential Support Worker

Hours: 11.75 hours per week

Salary: Up to £7,186 with opportunities to earn additional hours working at weekends.

Location of Post: Vale Lodge Children’s Home, Evesham

Are you a highly motivated social care professional with experience in residential setting for children?

Vale Lodge is looking for a Night Residential Support Worker to join an established team.

Vale Lodge is a 52-week placement that offers a comprehensive residential service to children and young people with learning difficulties and disabilities within Worcestershire Children First. The team ensures the physical, social and emotional well-being of the children/young people and assist in their positive holistic development and resilience.

. As a Residential Support Worker (Nights), your role will involve supporting children and young people with disabilities, learning difficulties and complex needs. The position focuses on developing independent life skills through individually designed programmes.

This role is offered on a part-time basis 12 hrs per week (10 pm - 8 am) working night shifts only to include weekend work.

Following a thorough induction and training programme, your duties as a Residential Support Worker (Nights) would include:

•Promoting life skills and independence in the home, developing domestic and personal skills

•Preparing for and encouraging morning routines

•Managing complex and challenging behaviour

•Documenting all children’s activities, reporting and recording key aspects of their care

Key Skills Required:

•Hold a Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (Children or Young people)

•Keen to work with children with complex and challenging behaviour

•Able to work independently and as part of a team

•Clear and concise written and verbal communication

•Have the flexibility and willingness to work shifts, including weekends

You will be required to work on rota shift basis to accommodate the needs of the young people and the Home. An NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care for Children and Young people is required for this role as the hours worked would not allow the successful candidate to obtain this in position.
