The post holder will:

  • lead a portfolio of functions and services in a directorate, delivering high quality and cost-effective services though effective customer and stakeholder engagement.
  • be responsible for Heads of Service and Senior Managers delivering ICT and digital services, Customer Services and Procurement and Commercial.
  • support the Deputy Chief Executive in strategy development and partnership working, the work of the directorate and the wider council.

This position will also be part of the council's Strategic Executive Board with collective responsibility for a range of corporate priorities.

The council has a contractual 3 days mandatory unpaid leave which, for the majority of services, are fixed at the Christmas period. This represents a pay deduction of 1.15% in return for which employees are afforded three days unpaid leave (pro-rata for part time staff).
