1:1 Support Teaching Assistant Role

Monday to Friday –20 hours a week

St Nicholas CE First School has an exciting opportunity for a NVQ3 qualified (minimum) Teaching Assistant to join our team as soon as possible.

 

In this role you will be expected to work alongside the class teacher to provide high quality support for a pupil with additional needs.   This will involve supporting learning, social experiences and inclusion in everyday school routines and expectations.

There will be an expectation that the majority of the work is carried out in class, with the need to withdraw as required to follow individual plans and needs.

Applicants must have experience of supporting SEND pupils to thrive in mainstream education, the ability to work within a team and support the school’s vision.  

Applicants with experience of ASC needs and managing the impact of these on access to learning, emotional wellbeing and behaviour are encouraged to apply.

Applicants must have good interpersonal skills and be able to maintain and keep professional records, providing valuable feedback to class teacher, SENCo and parents.   They will be expected to contribute fully to EHCP meetings and other meetings with professional agencies and support teams as is required.   They must be of a resilient character and positive disposition with the ability to motivate and support children who may be wary of new situations.
