We are currently looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant for 1:1 support. The appropriate candidate must have proven experience in supporting children with SEMH needs. Within this role, you will be working with children with challenging behaviours and supporting them both individually and as part of their class.  We are looking for a highly skilled individual who can manage difficult situations, minimise risk and de-escalate situations.  This person will:

  • understand EHCPs and ensure these are transferred into practice;
  • have a resilient nature and a great sense of humour along with a passion and a genuine interest in supporting children with SEMH needs;
  • work well under direction and on their own initiative;
  • have relevant and recent SEMH training/experience;

Visits to the school are thoroughly encouraged.

Recent experience and a genuine passion for working with SEND pupils is essential. All applicants will need to hold a current enhanced DBS and be fully compliant to work in the UK.
