We are looking for an exceptional candidate to fill a new key role as Service Support Manager, working directly with the Director of Regeneration to lead on the delivery of a number of key regeneration projects and programmes, working with external stakeholders such as the West Midlands Combined Authority, Black Country Local Enterprise Partnership, University of Wolverhampton, together with developers and investors in the city. This role will help to support the delivery of major city regeneration projects such as the Towns Fund and Future High Streets Fund, including schemes like the Civic Halls, Interchange, City Learning Quarter, Westside, Brewers Yard and Canalside South. It will also support the Directorate in delivering the enterprise, skills, planning and business support agenda.
You will lead on significant pieces of work on behalf of the Director, to ensure delivery of our ambition vision for the city. This will mean building and managing effective relationships with Councillors, senior managers and external partners across complex issues and a number of services.
You will represent the organisation and directorate at internal and external meetings and boards to negotiate, influence and deliver regeneration activities.
You will be expected to work in a matrix way to meet challenging deadlines and resolve complex problems on behalf of the Director. Experience of working in a busy regeneration environment, managing projects, delivering change and improving service performance is pivotal.
You will have sound relationship management and organisational skills that can improve and create excellent relationships with internal and external key stakeholders.
The post will work with the regeneration leadership team.
