Dudley MBC is a community council rich in history and is very focused on regenerating and reinvesting itself to meet the challenges of the future forming part of the West Midlands Combined Authority. Legal Services continues to be accredited with the Law Society’s standard in excellence in legal practice management and client care.

Hours: 37 per week (part time will be considered)

Salary: Grade 11  (£39,486-£42,398)

Location: 4 Ednam Road, Dudley/Home Working

We require an experienced Adult Social Care Solicitor/Barrister to support the Council’s Adult Social Care Service full time permanent basis. (Part time will be considered)

The successful applicant will be responsible for the day to day provision of an efficient and effective legal service to the Council, its Members and Officers.

Occasional court attendance will be required to represent the Council on Adult Social Care matters.

Applicants should have adult social care law and general litigation law experience.

The ability to work well within a team is essential as is the ability to demonstrate the following practical skills: Excellent communication, organisational and ICT skills.

The council has a contractual 3 days mandatory unpaid leave which, for the majority of services, are fixed at the Christmas period.  This represents a pay deduction of 1.15% in return for which employees are afforded three days unpaid leave (pro-rata for part time staff).
