WOLLESCOTE PRIMARY SCHOOL

School Business Manager

The Governors wish to appoint an experienced School Business Manager (Grade 10)

Wollescote is a larger than average primary school which serves a diverse community. Our work is characterised by our fundamental commitment to inclusion. Of our 450 pupils currently on roll, a large proportion of pupils (72%) come from Pakistani backgrounds. Approximately 20% of our pupils qualify for Pupil Premium.

The school is supported by a very able governing body, with Ofsted, school improvement, finance and management backgrounds and is a consistently good school. Our core values of Be Proud, Be Positive and Be Polite encapsulates our ethos of ensuring that children reach their potential in a supportive and nurturing environment.

As Head Teacher and Governors, we are in the unique position to know just how highly regarded Wollescote Primary School is: which is why we are looking to find a very special person to share our aspirations, ethos and vision whilst ensuring that children come first in all we do.

We are looking for an experienced and capable individual who really wants to make a difference for the children at Wollescote, who has the skills to ensure the calm and smooth running of an extremely busy school office, whilst ensuring senior leaders, teachers and the wider community feel supported through the effective organisation of the administration of school life.

You will work closely with the Head Teacher to execute policy and practice for finance, administration, governance, Human Resources, GDPR and safeguarding, whilst ensuring the management of the office supports teachers and parents in their day to day interactions with the school in a positive way.

You will need to be a good communicator, to be a person that staff, children and parents find approachable and trustworthy.

You will need to be someone who is reflective, proactive, a problem solver who pays attention to detail and have excellent organisational skills. You will need to understand the need for confidentiality at all levels and recognise the sensitivity of information your department hold. It is essential that you have a secure HR background, have a good working knowledge of GDPR and have had the experience of working in a school office preferably at management level.

If you believe you are the person who we are looking for, make an appointment to visit us and apply. Please contact our current Business Manager Kerry Morris on 01384 818500 or email kmorris@wollescote.dudley.sch.uk to arrange a discussion with the Headteacher.

Please note the school is closed between the 26th to the 30th October.

Applicants are encouraged to access the school website to gain further information about our school:

Closing date: 1st November 2020

Short listing:  Week commencing 2nd November 2020
