SEND Placements Officer

Salary:  £23,541- £27,041 per annum

Full time 37 hours per week – 12 months Fixed term

As part of the children’s services transformation, our vision is to develop a high- quality placement service that offers a coordinated approach to seeking both social care and independent special school placements

We are therefore seeking a dedicated SEND Placements Officer who will initially join the SEND Team to undertake educational placement searches and carry out consultations with independent special schools to secure appropriate specialist provision for Children and Young People with Education, Health and Care Plans.

Working collaboratively with both the SEND Team and the Placements Team, you will develop relationships with a range of partners including schools, contracts and commissioning colleagues

This is an exciting opportunity to join a service that truly aims to make a difference to the outcomes of children and young people with SEND in supporting them to fulfil their aspirations and preparing them for living independently, gaining meaningful employment, being part of the community and maintaining good health.

This is a fast-paced role in which you will be required to meet statutory deadlines and contribute to overall service performance. The ability to contribute to service development and practice improvement is also paramount.

This position is subject to a criminal records check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB) which will require you to disclose details of all unspent and unfiltered spent reprimands, formal warnings, cautions and convictions in your application form.

This position will have access to the Public Sector Network, to meet government security standards we will request a basic criminal convictions certificate and other background checks prior to appointment for the successful candidate
