A Fixed-Term contract opportunity for 12 months has arisen to fulfil the post of House Project Facilitator within the Children and Young People in Care’s Supported Accommodation Team.

The National House Project is an innovative way of supporting care leavers to take control of their transition to independent living and to have greater involvement and choice in creating a long-term home after care. We are seeking a House Project Facilitator to provide direct support to care leavers and young people in care who have been referred to the House Project, ensuring that they have the maximum possible ownership of the project, maintain their membership and achieve good outcomes.

You should have experience of working directly with children and young people in a social care, education or youth work setting, experience of working closely with other agencies and professionals (statutory and voluntary), be able to form positive relationships with young people that facilitate positive personal development and motive and have the ability and motivation to involve young people in decision making at every level. You should have an understanding of the social, emotional, safeguarding and practical challenges facing young people in care and care leavers and understanding of how these may be overcome.

If you are interested in the role and would like any further information please contact Julia Tompson, Supported Accommodation Manager on 07881358670 or email Julia.tompson@wolverhampton.gov.uk
