Senior Research Officer
Salary from: £26,241 - £27,978
35hr per week
Temporary 12 month fixed term
Worcestershire County Council has a fantastic opportunity for two well-qualified and enthusiastic people to join the Research Team and support the work of the council as Senior Research Officers.
This will be a varied role, where the successful candidates will work on research programmes using appropriate quantitative and/or qualitative techniques to inform decisions on the design and delivery of council services, including the response to and recovery from the coronavirus pandemic.
The successful candidates will have significant experience of providing meaningful forward-looking research and analysis to inform decision-making, which could include evaluation, forecasting, consultation, policy or market research. You should have experience of managing projects with multiple priorities, and presenting results to senior managers.
Proactive, independent and forward-thinking, it is essential that you can demonstrate an analytical approach to problem solving, high level communication skills (both verbal and written) and that you are able to understand, interpret and convey complex findings to both operational and strategic audiences.
You must be able to work effectively with staff at a variety of levels, inside and outside the organisation. Your IT skills will be excellent, and you will be able to work in a structured way without supervision to meet deadlines. You will be highly motivated and keen to develop your own skills, knowledge and techniques as required.
Worcestershire County Council operates a policy of flexible working and staff regularly work from home or an alternative work base. Owing to Covid-19, staff are currently working from home wherever possible.
