The purpose of this role:

To provide a proactive Housing Options and statutory homeless service linking housing need to the full range of resources at the Council’s disposal

Undertake a full range of professional duties with an emphasis is on providing good customer service, addressing need, sustaining tenancies, and maximising income whilst achieving greater service efficiencies

To provide line management to the Housing Advice Technical Support Officer post.

Oversee the operation of the housing register and nominations to social housing stock through the Home Choice Plus choice based letting system

The successful candidate should be educated to degree level, with a good level of education including 5 A-C, New Grade 4-9 (or equivalent) at GCSE level including Maths and English.

To have worked in homelessness or a related field for a minimum of 2 years including working directly with customers and applying relevant legislation.

To hold (or working towards) a professional qualification with the Chartered Institute of Housing.

This position is 37 hours per week (flexible) on a 2 year fixed term contract.

You will also be required to undertake the homeless out of hours function on a rota basis.

Special working arrangements for Bank Holidays and Christmas Working applies.
