We are looking for a Commercial Manager – Procurement to join Herefordshire Council’s Commercial Services Team.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, management and coaching styles to drive the development of a small team and advocate and support development of good public sector procurement practice within the organisation.
You will evidence a strong background in leading on procurement projects that are complex both in terms of the services being procured and the stakeholder dynamics across a range of subject areas including construction and social care.
Responsible for a small team, the purpose of the role is to support the Commercial Services Manager in the planning, organisation, management and delivery of the procurement service to drive and deliver an efficient, effective and responsive service for the organisation, whilst maximising best value for money and complying with relevant legislation.
The successful applicant will have a minimum of 3yrs experience working at a senior procurement level and must have demonstrable achievements in a public sector procurement and supply environment. You will need to be suitably qualified by having CIPS level 5 working towards full membership or educated to degree level or equivalent and demonstrable experience for both.
