About Us and The Role

At Warwickshire County Council we are always looking for people of the highest calibre whose knowledge, skills and experience will help us provide the best possible service. An opportunity has arisen to join a specialist team with the County Council’s Engineering Design Services. We are looking for an innovative, self-motivated and committed professional to join our Traffic Control and Information Systems Team helping to look after almost 400 traffic signal installations and delivering capital schemes with a budget of £15m.  

You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of our Urban Traffic Management and Control System. Your expertise will also mean that you will be directly involved with the implementation, maintenance and operation of traffic signal junctions, pedestrian crossings, car park management signs and other Intelligent Transport Systems across the County. We will provide you with the opportunity to become involved with innovative traffic schemes as part of your professional development.

As an experienced Principal Traffic Signal and ITS Engineer, you will have good financial, technical and project management skills, the ability to communicate effectively and a track record in this field. We are looking for someone with significant experience of traffic signal asset management, preparation of traffic signal design documentation including TR2500, UTC/MOVA data, undertaking FAT/SAT and validation work. Experience of Siemen’s traffic application including UTC – SCOOT, Stratos, Remote Monitoring System and Inview is highly desirable but appropriate training will be provided if necessary. Ideally you will have a relevant professional qualification or be working towards one.
