Hours:  37 per week

Salary:  Grade 8

We are looking for a Participation Officer to develop and co-ordinate opportunities for young people to participate in democratic structures and processes, ensuring appropriate support and training is in place to enable their full involvement. Someone who will manage programmes and resources and ensure that Young Peoples' contribution can evidence impact.

To support the established Youth Council and the Youth Service contribution to local, regional and national youth voice programmes and to ensure that with least access to decision making processes are supported to influence services.

The positive promotion of young peoples' contribution is essential.

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Youth Participation Officer who can evidence current work with young people in informal settings and of supporting the development of Youth Voice structures including Youth Councils and similar.A professional with the understanding and experience of working with statutory and voluntary sector partners.

It is essential that you are flexible in working patterns to accommodate some evenings and weekend working as required

The council has a contractual 3 days mandatory unpaid leave which, for the majority of services, are fixed at the Christmas period.  This represents a pay deduction of 1.15% in return for which employees are afforded three days unpaid leave (pro-rata for part time staff).
