With a newly adopted Local Plan, Rugby has big plans for growth.  We are an ambitious Borough with a strong drive to maintain a competitive and productive economy and enhance our vibrant town centre.

You will also play a significant role in monitoring and demonstration of housing land supply and providing planning policy input on planning applications at key development sites.  You will also help to produce key Supplementary Planning Documents that will help deliver the Local Plan.

Ideally, you will have knowledge of Local Plan processes and good knowledge of current legislation and guidance which you will apply in policy creation.  You will bring strong interpersonal and communication skills to the role and will be able to engage in a positive way with colleagues, members of the council and the public in providing policy advice and support to communities producing Neighbourhood Plans.  You will be highly organised, computer literate and have good project management skills.

With a Planning degree or equivalent, you’ll also need licentiate membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (or equivalent), ideally evidence of relevant continuous professional development.

A driving license and access to a car for business use is essential.
