Job Details

We have an exciting opportunity to recruit to the position of Citizen & Consumer Protection Team Manager (Trading Standards) within Regulatory Services at Sandwell MBC.

The Citizen and Consumer Protection Team plays a key role in contributing towards the 2030 vision. 

You will receive excellent training to carry out the role, we employ a flexible way of working, taking advantage of good IT service provision.

We are looking for a committed and driven individual to join the team.  You will manage an area team with officers from Environmental Health and Trading Standards disciplines and ensure that, through joint working, the service priorities are met. 

You will be the lead specialist for Trading Standards and fulfil the role and responsibilities of the Chief Inspector of Weights and Measures. You will have an important role in shaping the service and taking it forward in these challenging times, to ensure current and future needs are met.

You will be pivotal in leading the team on the continuous development and improvement of the service to achieve key objectives. You will be innovative and look for new ways to tackle existing problems. You should have a proven track record of delivering results and be passionate in motivating others to succeed.

You must be a qualified Inspector of Weights and Measures. 

A standard DBS check is required for this role.
