We are currently recruiting for a Private Rented Sector Liaison
Assistant.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Councils dynamic Housing Solutions Team as a dedicated Private Rented Sector Liaison Assistant with a vision to prevent homelessness.

This post is a two-year fixed-term contract reporting to, and working closely with, the existing Landlord Liaison and Development Officer, to be a single point of contact within the Housing Solutions Service for local landlords and agents, who are considering ending tenancies due to changes in their tenants financial circumstances or due to other issues.

The remit of the role will be to proactively engage with local landlords, letting agents, as well as private sector tenants, who are facing potential homelessness.

The purpose will be to explore all available options to prevent homelessness and to sustain the tenancies.

The role will also work closely with our Choice Based Lettings team to identify potential private rented tenants registering for social housing, that have indicated they are struggling with their private rented accommodation.

We are looking for an adaptable and motivated team member who wants to help deliver this service and continually seek to improve our customer service.

The successful candidate will have:

- Knowledge of the homelessness legislation and particularly legislation relating to the private rented sector
-Recent experience of working in a public sector service or housing related environment
-Experience of contributing to partnership and multi-agency working
-Recent and relevant experience of dealing directly with the members of the public and understanding customer care issues
-Excellent organisational skills in terms of service planning, prioritising work, time management, effective use of resources and performance evaluation
-The ability to be articulate in expressing ideas to generate collective resolutions to problems
-The ability to work under pressure, sometimes dealing with individuals or subject matters that can be emotive and demanding
-Excellent written, verbal communication and numerical skills
