The Orchards Primary Academy, located in the centre of a new development in Northfield, opened on 1 July 2013. As a Primary Academy with a Pre-School and a full time Nursery, we are able to nurture and support children from a young age until the end of their primary education.

The future for The Orchards is very exciting. In March 2019 we were judged as a Good school by Ofsted, we are now striving towards our school becoming Outstanding. We are included in the Primary School Rebuild Programme Phase 2, and work has now started on our new building. The rebuild is due to finish around Easter 2021.

We are looking to appoint a Senior Secretary to look after the main office. You will be either an experienced secretary or Office Manager with a good telephone manner and the ability to deal with multiples demands at once. Another essential skill would be the ability to manage our MIS and its features that feed other school needs (eg dinner registers, FSM data, absences, to name but a few).

In return you will be provided high quality CPD and opportunities for further development within a supportive and friendly school.

The successful applicant will need to:

- be an excellent team player

- be conversant with Microsoft Word & Excel

- be familiar with the needs of a Primary School setting

- be able to liaise with parents, staff and colleagues in what can be a very busy office

- show initiative, display confidence, and take the lead on all aspects of office life

- have high standards and expectations

- demonstrate compassion and understanding when dealing with all stakeholders

Ideally, but not essential, would be a qualification in school office management. We will treat everyone on their own merits, and all applications will be considered.

Again, two or three years working in a school office environment would be a distinct advantage.

We would need someone to 'hit the ground running' as this role was previously occupied by a very experienced individual.

Visits to the school are welcomed, please contact the School Office on 0121 464 4302.

Closing date for applications: Sunday 1st November 2020 23:59

The University of Wolverhampton Multi Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

This post is subject to satisfactory references which will be requested prior to the interview, an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, medical check, evidence of qualifications, plus verification of the right to work in the UK.
