Public Engagement Officer
We are looking to immediately recruit 20 to 30 PEOs to carry out the following duties throughout Solihull which include shopping areas such as Chelmsley Wood, Shirley and Solihull Town Centre:
- work with businesses to adopt and maintain good practice (e.g. queue management) and follow the rules such as Track and Trace procedures;
- direct pedestrians and support social distancing in busy public areas;
- remind members of the public to wear a face covering where required;
- Go “door to door” to remind people about restrictions and deliver leaflets.
Working in pairs, you will need to be able to positively engage with the public and local businesses.
All relevant and up to date information on the regulations in place will be provided.
The hours of work are variable and will, wherever possible, be tailored to meet your personal circumstances. We will also be looking to appoint people who can support at weekends.

PEOs will not have the power to take enforcement action, issues of non-compliance will be escalated to the police.
