Job Details
This is a temporary post until July 2021 but depending upon funding there is the possibility of an extension.
St John Bosco is an outstanding, one-form entry school. We are looking for an SEN teaching assistant to join our energetic and enthusiastic teaching team.
We are looking for someone who has experience of supporting children with SEN, but specifically someone that can demonstrate patience, compassion and the ability to provide a continually nurturing presence. You will mainly be supporting a child in KS1 throughout the day with specific targets and inclusion in the mainstream class. Ideally, you will have experience of supporting children with Special Needs and experience of 1:1 intervention to support barriers to learning. You will also need to have knowledge of EHCPs and ensure these are transferred into practice. You will need a great sense of humour and a genuine interest in supporting children with specific needs. Experience of Makaton and delivering communication and language programmes would be beneficial.
All applicants will need to hold a current enhanced DBS and be fully compliant to work in the UK.
