Science Technician
Salary: Grade 3, £9.62 - £9.81 per hour - ie approximately £6,072 per annum
Term Time part time permanent contract
Working pattern: Monday and Tuesday, Hours: 8:30am to 4.00pm – 14 hours per week
Required for immediate start, a Technician to work under the direction and instruction of senior staff to provide general technical support to the Science department.
You will be joining a friendly, enthusiastic and experienced team and will undertake a wide range of duties associated with the preparation of science lessons. These will include:
Preparation of resources associated with the new curricula
Setting up practical lessons
Handling/storing of chemicals
Stock taking
General maintenance of equipment in and around the department
You will be the point of contact for a selection of staff each week who you will need to liaise with in order to ensure that lessons have the required requisitions needed for each period. You may also be asked to communicate effectively with parents, carers and external agencies by telephone. The duties of the post are varied, so a high level of flexibility is required.
