We are seeking to recruit an HR Specialist based within HR & Organisational Development, reporting to the HR Team Manager. You will be a lead officer advising and supporting Directorate’s on complex HR case work including disciplinary, grievance, absence, performance management and redeployment matters

Hours: 37 per week 

Salary: Grade 10 

Location: Regent House, King Street, Dudley

This role will include working with all levels of managers and employees on a wide range of HR and employment related issues, ensuring consistency of approach and the correct application of employment legislation, national and local agreements and terms and conditions of employment. In addition you will provide guidance and support to HR Officers within the team in their development and seek resolutions to case work.

You must be able to demonstrate post qualifying HR experience and be a Chartered Member of the Institute of Personnel & Development (MCIPD) or with the necessary criteria and prepared to apply for chartered membership. You will have a proven track record in all aspects of HR operational support at a senior level and need a thorough knowledge of employment legislation and experience of interpreting this to support the business.

The council has a contractual 3 days mandatory unpaid leave which, for the majority of services, are fixed at the Christmas period.  This represents a pay deduction of 1.15% in return for which employees are afforded three days unpaid leave (pro-rata for part time staff).
