We are looking for professionals with experience in special educational needs who are seeking a new challenge and responsibility in a complex and fast paced role.

Working as part of a small team, you will request and collate information from a number of partner services in line with the local authority’s legal duties and working processes. You will manage a large caseload of children with an education health and care plan, or who are under assessment, identifying and raising complex cases with your supervisor and supporting parents, young people and schools.

You will have a relevant professional qualification (Teaching, Psychology, Child Care, Social Work) or have considerable experience of employment in an educational setting or an EHCP Coordinator role.

You will also need:

  • Detailed Knowledge and experience of working to the Special Educational Needs (SEN) Code of Practice and Statutory SEN processes.
  • Experience of undertaking assessments, support planning and review in a child-centred approach.
  • Analytical and evaluative skills required to write EHC Plans.
  • The ability to communicate complex and sensitive information with parents/ carers and young people, showing empathy particularly in times of challenge.

This is a fascinating and rewarding role which will test your ability to manage multiple workflows, prioritise and communicate effectively. You will be at the centre of facilitating good outcomes for a group of highly vulnerable children and young people.
