Early Years Educator Apprentice – Newdale Primary School and Nursery

Fixed term contract Period 18 months

Term time only + PD days and staff meetings termly

Apprenticeship minimum wage applies- currently £4.15 per hour for the first year for apprentices over 19 years. After the first 12 months the salary will increase to minimum wage per age, further information can be found at https://www.gov.uk/national-minimum-wage-rates

We are looking to appoint a Level 3 Early Educator. As a team member of the school, you will work under the instruction/guidance of teaching/senior staff to undertake work, care and support programmes, to enable access to learning for pupils and to assist the teacher in the Nursery in the management of pupils and the classroom.

You need to be organised and have a willingness to study towards an apprenticeship whilst working. 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time + PD days) Monday – Friday. Holidays must be taken during school holiday periods only. There will also be one evening staff meeting every term where you would need to attend.

We expect you to hold qualifications that demonstrate a good level of literacy and numeracy. GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English Language and Mathematics is essential. As part of this placement, you will be expected to undertake off the job training.

You will study for a National Vocational Qualification Level 3 Early Educator as part of this employment.
