SEN Support Assistants
up to 31.25 hours - Term-time only
Abbey Hill School & College is a popular, successful and over-subscribed school meeting the needs of children and young people with learning difficulties, communication & interaction difficulties and/or Autistic Spectrum Conditions. We have 308 pupils on roll and 140+ staff.
Abbey Hill School is rapidly expanding and now has ‘satellite’ classes on two mainstream school sites. Our governors are seeking to employ suitably experienced and qualified individuals for a range of positions to join a dedicated team of professionals who are committed to ensuring the best outcomes for our pupils.
The successful candidates will be working with teachers as part of a professional team to support teaching and learning for SEN pupils. Providing specialist assistance to pupils who need particular help to overcome barriers to learning, such as those with moderate, severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties and/or behavioural, social, communication, sensory or physical disabilities.
You must have excellent communication, numeracy, literacy and IT skills.
Minimum essential requirements:
You must meet the national occupational standards (NOS) in Supporting Teaching & Learning Level 3 and be working at NVQ Level 3.
We have a variety of term-time only posts/hours both permanent and temporary. The starting salary will be pro-rate to Level 5 full time full year £20092 - £22183. More information can be found in our application pack
