Year 1 Teacher - Maternity Cover - Mount Pleasant Primary School & Nursery

Salary - Main Pay Scale
We wish to appoint an enthusiastic teacher to join a skilled and supportive staff team. It is essential that applicants can prove they are good/outstanding teachers of English and Maths and can demonstrate excellent skills in relation to working in part of a team.
Key responsibilities:
To teach consistently good/outstanding lessons across the curriculum;
To lead and manage one or more teaching assistants in the classroom;
To meet the individual needs of all pupils including those with SEND and those in receipt of the Pupil Premium;
To assist with target-setting for pupils and assess progress accurately;
To plan pupils’ work and mark/assess outcomes in line with school policies;
To undertake such reasonable activities as the headteacher and governors may, from time to time, require;
To liaise with parents/carers to ensure pupils enjoy and achieve;
To work with other members of staff and professionals to provide care, support for and safeguarding vulnerable pupils;
To uphold the ‘Teachers’ Standards’ at all times.
Personal skills required to carry out these responsibilities:
To have strong and effective classroom management skills;
The ability to stimulate and engage with all pupils of differing ages and abilities;
To be a good communicator and able lead a team with purpose and vision;
To be effective in enabling pupils of all abilities to make good progress;
To be well organised, tidy and efficient, modelling high standards of presentation;
To have good ICT skills including familiarity with an interactive whiteboard;
To have secure knowledge of KS1 practice;
The ability to teach stimulating and exciting lessons;
Able to plan thoroughly, assess pupils’ work accurately and record progress;
To have a sense of humour and rapport with other members of staff.
