Trading Standards - Intelligence Officer
Salary: (Grade 9) £32,234 - £36,922 per annum
37 hours per week – Permanent

Staffordshire Trading Standards is looking to recruit an Intelligence Officer to support the team in protecting Staffordshire’s consumers and promoting a safe and fair-trading environment across Staffordshire.
The successful applicant will be a highly motivated individual and will be responsible to the Technical and Business Manager within our Trading Standards team. This is a new role and will be an integral part of the Trading Standards team ensuring that all decision making is intelligence led and team activity is focussed and co-ordinated to achieve maximum impact.
The right candidate will become the Service specialist for the Trading Standards Manager on Intelligence; championing and promoting its use in decision making by all managers and enforcement staff as part of the Trading Standards culture. The role requires a relevant intelligence qualification and we particularly welcome applications from those who have successfully completed an Intelligence Apprenticeship and/or can demonstrate recent experience working within an intelligence led Trading Standards team.
A good understanding of the National Intelligence Model and its use within the trading standards environment will be important together with previous experience in processing intelligence with appropriate controls in place.
Excellent communication and networking skills will be essential in this role and experience in the production of intelligence products would also be of an advantage.
