Are you a Local entrepreneur? Maybe a return to work mum?  Perhaps you’re a business Graduate? Or maybe you are looking for a career change? If one of these is you, then this exciting role could be the perfect fit.  The key things we’re looking for is customer facing business experience, enthusiasm to try new things and plenty of energy. Full time or part time, we don’t mind.  We don’t have a fixed view of who the right person will be, but we’ll know you when we meet you!

Worcestershire County Council are seeking an experienced and customer focussed Business Advisor to support delivery of the next phase of development of the Business and IP Centre Worcestershire. The role will work to expand and extend our new business support for entrepreneurs and SMEs across Worcestershire Libraries. Now a part of the Business and IP Centre national network under the British Library, the launch of the Centre will support free access to business intelligence, provide a range of webinars, masterclasses and one to ones in support of pre or early start businesses, signposting them to existing partner support, and will provide IP information and guidance for businesses.

We’re looking for someone with exposure to a business environment where you worked with customers face to face. You will be a good at handling enquires and able to instil confidence in people taking their first steps in setting up a business. You’ll need to be  confident in supporting people who may be out of their comfort zone. This role also needs someone who is happy to develop and personally deliver a wide range of webinars and events so you will have good presentation skills. You will need to be confident and engaging with the ability to work with partners and businesses alike. But most of all you’ll be energetic, able to think outside of the box, keen to get involved and excited by supporting those taking their first steps. If all of this sounds like you, then we’d love to see your application.

This post will be based at The Hive, with regular travel required across all of Worcestershire's libraries.

As this role is about attracting new audiences, we particularly welcome applications from those who are under-represented in some areas of Business activity: women, people of an ethnic minority or people living with a disability.

We are inclusive – this is really important to us and we are proud to be a Disability Confident Employer.

Disability Confident is helping us recruit and retain great people to meet our workforce needs.

If you have a disability and require reasonable adjustments, please let us know.

Application Closing Date: Sunday 29th November 2020,

Anticipated Interview Date: Friday 4th December 2020,

This post is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund until 30th June 2023.
